Dr Monique flores

Northern Skin Studio was opened by Dr Monique Flores in April 2014. After graduating from The University of Queensland in 1997, Dr Monique came to work at The Townsville General Hospital. She completed her General Practice training in 2002 but soon discovered her love of skin cancer and cosmetic medicine.

She started working with the well-loved cosmetic doctor Dr Peta Mayston from 2003. Dr Monique has worked full time and solely in the field of skin cancer and cosmetic medicine since 2006, amassing tens of thousands of hours of experience. 

She has a Masters in Skin Cancer Medicine and has been a Trainer for Galderma, a global cosmetic pharmaceutical company.

She is known for her keen aesthetic eye and commitment to a youthful fresh look as opposed to obvious cosmetic work. 

Dr Vicki Stonehouse

Dr Vicki considers herself a true Townsville local having been born here and completing both her schooling and tertiary studies locally. Whilst she did initially harbour dreams of becoming a pastry chef, it was a love of science that led her to study in the health fields. She completed a bachelor of biomedical science before completing a bachelor of medicine and surgery at JCU, graduating in 2006. Dr Vicki then undertook her junior years and advanced training in emergency medicine at the Townsville Hospital. Her love of the bush then took her to various rural and remote locations throughout Queensland working in various senior medical roles including director of medical services. She completed rural generalist training in 2012 and was awarded fellowships of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners the same year.

Dr Vicki has always had an interest in skin health and undertook extra study in skin cancer and aesthetic medicine beginning in 2017. She commenced working at Northern Skin Studio in 2017 and enjoys taking a holistic approach to the skin health of her patients. Dr Vicki offers medical and aesthetic skin consultations and treatment planning, Injectables, cosmetic lesion removal, co2 laser, Mona Lisa touch vaginal rejuvenation and hair transplant. Her favourite in clinic treatment is IPL for pigmentation and rosacea.

Dr Corinna Smith

Dr Corinna Smith has been with NORTHERN SK/N since June 2019. Corinna performs cosmetic injectable treatments, CO2 resurfacing laser, skin health consultations, surgical mole removal, ear lobe repair and Neograft hair transplant’s. Corinna has a special interest in surgical procedures, hair transplant and laser treatments. Corinna enjoys the attention to detail of aesthetic medicine. 

Dr Corinna graduated from medicine at JCU in 2012. She completed her internship and residency at The Townsville Hospital. Corinna was a surgical registrar in Mackay for 2 years prior to returning to Townsville in 2017. In early 2019, Corinna completed her FRACGP and FACRRM fellowships. Additionally, she holds an advanced skill (AST) in surgery and endoscopy. Dr Corinna went on to be awarded a FARGP fellowship in 2020. She has since completed Masters of Medicine in Skin Cancer at UQ.

 
 

nURSE shONA GREAT

Shona graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Nursing Science in 1995. She spent the next two years establishing nursing experience in Brisbane and then took the opportunity to travel. She worked in various nursing settings before specialising in surgical theatre nursing at Moorefields Eye Hospital, London.

In 2005 Shona joined a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at his Harley Street Clinic; this was the start of what has now become her passion. Keen to further her education and practice, she attended world-renowned conferences, including the E.M.A.A. and F.A.C.E. conferences in Paris and London and was also a yearly attendant to the Royal College of Nursing – Aesthetic Nursing Forum.

Over the next four years, Shona gained certificates and experience in dermal fillers, collagen stimulating treatments, muscle relaxing injections, advanced chemical skin peels, light therapies, laser rejuvenation and other treatments such as mesotherapy. When needed, she was also a surgical assistant and has a great deal of knowledge about cosmetic surgical procedures.

In 2011, she returned to her home of North Queensland, working as the senior cosmetic injector at a Townsville cosmetic clinic and Clinical Trainer for Galderma (Aesthetic and Corrective).

In conjunction with her clinical experience Shona also keeps up to date with techniques and information by attending conferences such as the A.S.A.P.S. Non-Surgical Symposium and Cosmetex Conferences (Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery) and is a member of The Australian College of Nursing (A.C.N.).

With 17 years of cosmetic and non-surgical experience, Shona joined the Northern Skin Studio team in October 2020 at a Cosmetic Nurse Injector. Under the prescription and working closely with Dr Monique Flores, her relaxed confidence and experience enables our patients to have bespoke, advanced treatments with a personal touch.

 
 
 
 

dr kate walduck

Dr Kate completed a Bachelor of Nursing in 2000, Kate moved to Brisbane to undertake her medical degree at The University of Queensland. 

Dr Kate is a GP who originally trained in orthapedic surgery. She changed her career path 10 years ago and began practicing Cosmetic Medicine.

She attained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is also a member of Skin Cancer College of Australasia. When Kate is not at Northern Skin she is a very busy General Practitioner.
