Muscle relaxants and a dermal filler for established (never untreated) deep frown lines in a patient who suffered migraine headaches.

Frown lines are the most common area to treat with muscle relaxing injections. The results are predictable and the satisfaction rate very high.

We use muscle relaxants in the frown to:

- stop people looking cranky

- treat tension headaches and migraine (Medicare subsidises this after other medications have failed under Neurologist care)

- lift the brow/change brow position

Muscle contraction from frown muscles produce vertical lines in between the brows and also exerts a downward pull on the brows and upper lid.

Relaxing the frown muscles prevents frown wrinkles, treats frown wrinkles and gives the brow a “brow lift” and opens the eye area.

A protein (2 different brands to choose from) is injected into the appropriate muscles and this injection interrupts the nerve message travelling to the muscle.

Established wrinkles (deep lines at rest) need up to three treatments over 9 months to for the line to be erased. Occasionally frowns require a one-off dose of dermal filler ($550)
